This leads to the formation of MSc and PhD students, with competences for teaching, researching and extension.


Metallurgy

Scientific and technological research dealing with metallic materials, including topics such as: processing, microstructural characterization, mechanical, wear, corrosion, magnetic and electrical properties and biocompatibility. This leads to the formation of MSc and PhD students, with competences for teaching, researching and extension.


Polymers

Scientific and technological research dealing with polymeric materials, including topics such as: synthesis, processing, morphological characterization, mechanical, thermal, optical and electrical properties and biocompatibility. This leads to the formation of MSc and PhD students, with competences for teaching, researching and extension.


Technological development

Researches devoted to the spreading of knowledge regarding materials in order to stimulate technological development as well as business improvement. It includes the articulation of efforts and convergent actions with networks of professionals, entities and companies, in a complementary and integrated manner to the other Academic Areas of this Program. This leads to the formation of MSc and PhD students, with competences for providing the technological advancement of the Brazilian industry.
