PPGCEM professor has been appointed member of 'Engineering Failure Analysis' editorial board
Dr. Carlos Alberto Della Rovere, a Professor affiliated with PPGCEM/UFSCar since 2017, who has as one of his research areas the field of corrosion failure mechanisms, has been appointed member of the editorial board of the leading journal Engineering Failure Analysis, published by the Elsevier Group in collaboration with the European Structural Integrity Society Society (https://www.sciencedirect.com/journal/engineering-failure-analysis).
Engineering Failure Analysis provides the scientific community with an essential reference in the areas of engineering failure analysis and prevention, emphasizing failure mechanisms and proposing preventive actions to avoid new engineering failures. Published since 1994,
Engineering Failure Analysis is the leading journal in its field (2022 CiteScore of 6.1 and 2021 Impact Factor of 3.634), publishing around 900 papers per year with at least 1 million readers annually. The journal has an average review time of 13 weeks and an acceptance rate of 32%. The last Qualis classification was A2. The journal publishes: (i) comprehensive critical reviews on failure mechanisms or failure analysis; (ii) in-depth research papers investigating failure mechanisms; and (iii) failure analysis of engineering components, structures or systems based on materials characterization methods and numerical simulations.
"It is an honor to be appointed to the editorial board of Engineering Failure Analysis journal, which is the leading journal on this topic. It is also a recognition of the quality of my peer review activities for this journal and the technical-scientific production in this field of knowledge throughout my career," said Prof. Rovere. "In this new role, I hope to further contribute to the development and advancement of the science of failure analysis, especially with respect to engineering failures due to corrosion processes. And, as a local ambassador for Engineering Failure Analysis, I would like to take this opportunity to invite and encourage colleagues from UFSCar, Brazil and South America to submit scientific papers to this leading journal," he added.
Additional online information about the journal metrics and the guide for authors of Engineering Failure Analysis can be found on the journal's page. Also, to learn more about how Prof. Rovere is researching and working, please visit the Lattes Platform.
