PPGCEM doctoral student and Professor from DEMa/PPGCEM conduct international course on drying of high-temperature ceramic materials

The doctoral student Murilo Henrique Moreira and Prof. Dr. Victor Carlos Pandolfelli from DEMa/PPGCEM offered the course titled "Drying of Refractory Castables: From Scientific Fundamentals to Technological Applications", organized by FIRE at UNITECR 2023 held in the city of Frankfurt, Germany.

The doctoral student Murilo Henrique Moreira and Prof. Dr. Victor Carlos Pandolfelli, from DEMa/PPGCEM, conducted an 8-hour course titled "Drying of refractory castables: From scientific fundamentals to technological applications". The course took place on September 25, 2023, in Frankfurt, Germany, and covered the scientific fundamentals of drying monolithic refractories within the context of their industrial applications. It was held as part of the Unified International Technical Conference on Refractories - UNITECR 2023, the largest international congress dedicated to the field of refractory ceramic materials, which occurred from September 26 to 29, 2023, and attracted over 1,100 participants from 48 different countries.
The course generated significant and diverse interest, with all 30 available slots filled, including participation from graduate students, university professors, and industry professionals representing 18 different nationalities. The organization of the course was carried out by FIRE, an entity consisting of 13 global industries and 10 universities, with UFSCar-DEMa being the only one from the southern hemisphere to participate. FIRE is an organization wholly dedicated to training students who can work in a global setting, with all its resources directed towards education in the field of high-temperature ceramic materials.
