PPGCEM/DEMa-UFSCar stands out at the 68th Brazilian Congress of Ceramics with two first prizes among the presented works

PhD students Murilo Henrique Moreira and Otávio Henrique Borges, both supervised by Prof. Dr. Victor Carlos Pandolfelli at PPGCEM, were awarded at the 68th Brazilian Congress of Ceramic (CBC), organized by the Brazilian Ceramic Association (ABC) and held, this year, in Santos, SP. Otávio received the award for best work in the graduate student category, whereas Murilo won first place for the best work presented at the 68th CBC.

        PPGCEM students Murilo H. Moreira and Otávio H. Borges, both supervised by Prof. Dr. Victor Carlos Pandolfelli (DEMa/PPGCEM), were awarded for their work presented at the 68th Brazilian Congress of Ceramic, held in Santos, SP.

          The work “Opportunities and challenges of using microwaves to sinter alumina-based refractory castables” by O. H. Borges, A. L. Cardoso, M. H. Moreira, R. F. K. Gunnewiek, and V. C. Pandolfelli received the award for best work in the graduate student category. Meanwhile, the work “What can in-situ visualization of the drying of refractory castable teach us?” by M. H. Moreira, S. Dal Pont, A. Tengattini, and V. C. Pandolfelli was awarded first place among the best works presented at the 68th CBC.

          The Brazilian Congress of Ceramics annually brings together researchers from various national institutions, presenting works from different fields of ceramic materials research, such as biomaterials, traditional and advanced ceramics, processing methods, sintering, and refractory materials.
