PhD student from PPGCEM is Awarded in the ACerS Rising Stars Competition

PhD student Murilo Henrique Moreira, supervised by Prof. Dr. Victor Carlos Pandolfelli (DEMa/PPGCEM), had the work "Neutron Tomography Analysis of Permeability-Enhancing Additives in Refractory Castables" accepted for publication in the Journal of the American Ceramic Society and honored with the "ACerS Rising Stars" award, being also invited to present it at MS&T24 in Pittsburgh, United States.

On May 6 th , 2024, Murilo Henrique Moreira, a student from PPGCEM, supervised by Prof. Dr. Victor Carlos Pandolfelli (DEMa/PPGCEM), had the work "Neutron Tomography Analysis of Permeability-Enhancing Additives in Refractory Castables" authored by M. H. Moreira, S. Dal Pont, A. Tengattini, and V. C. Pandolfelli, honored with the "ACerS Rising Stars" award.

The competition, proposed by the editors of the American Ceramic Society journals, aimed to encourage and distinguish the best works of young researchers in the field of ceramic materials. As recognition, the doctoral student was invited to present the work at the "ACerS Journals Awards Symposium" at MS&T24 in Pittsburgh, United States.

The work comprised the results of neutron tomography tests carried out during the doctoral student's internship at the Institut Laue-Langevin and in partnership with the Université Grenoble Alpes, in Grenoble, France.
