PhD student from PPGCEM receives two awards at the 67th Brazilian Ceramic Congress

Breno Parente Bezerra, a PhD student from PPGCEM/UFSCar, working under the guidance of Prof. Ana Paula da Luz, achieved remarkable recognition for his research and presentations at the 67th Brazilian Ceramic Congress, receiving the prestigious awards for "2nd Best Paper" and "Best Graduate Student Paper".

The Brazilian Ceramic Congress (CBC) is the most significant event in the field in Brazil, aiming to foster interaction among various sectors involved in the ceramic industry and contribute to the further advancement and promotion of Brazilian ceramics. The 67th edition of this prestigious event took place in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, from June 12th to 15th. Numerous students from DEMa and PPGCEM actively participated, showcasing their scientific works through oral presentations and poster sessions. Additionally, researchers from PPGCEM played vital roles on the congress's scientific committee, ensuring the event's success.

Two exceptional papers, titled "Synthesis and evaluation of "one-part" geopolymer based on metakaolin, NaOH, and colloidal silica" and "The use of inorganic polymers in the development of environmentally friendly refractory castables", were recognized and honored with the prestigious awards for "Best Graduate Student Paper" and "2nd Best Paper" at the 67th CBC.

These award-winning studies were presented by PhD student Breno P. Bezerra, and they are part of his doctoral project conducted at PPGCEM, under the guidance of Prof. Ana Paula da Luz.
