UFSCar is accredited as an EMBRAPII unit

The Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) was accredited as a unit of the Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation (EMBRAPII). EMBRAPII UFSCar will carry-out RD&I in Sustainable Materials and Processes with the participation of PPGCEM.

The Federal University of Sao Carlos (UFSCar) was accredited as a unit of the Brazilian Company for Industrial Research and Innovation (EMBRAPII), a reference in the sector of innovation and industrial technology. At UFSCar, the new EMBRAPII unit will carry-out research, development and innovation (RD&I) projects in the area of Sustainable Materials and Processes.

EMBRAPII is a national agency for the development of innovation by means of collaboration with research institutes and universities. It belongs to the Ministries of Education (MEC) and Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC), who share the responsibility for its financing.

The EMBRAPII UFSCar Unit is coordinated by Professor Ernesto Chaves Pereira de Souza, from the Chemistry Department (DQ); its Vice-Coordinator is Professor Rafael Vidal Aroca, from the Computing Department (DC) and Director of the Innovation Agency (AIn) of UFSCar. EMBRAPII UFSCar is headquartered by the Center for Exact Sciences and Technology (CCET), whose Director is Professor Luiz Fernando de Oriani and Paulillo (Department of Production Engineering - DEP). In the research lines, the coordinators are: Elson Longo (Department of Chemistry - DQ), in Functional Materials; Arlene Corrêa (Department of Chemistry - DQ), in Materials in Processes and Sustainable Products (IQ); and Luiz Antonio Pessan (Materials Engineering Department (DEMa) and Graduate Program in Materials Science and Engineering (PPGCEM)), in Advanced Materials and Processes.
